Soccer is a unique game because it introduces individual skills within a larger team environment. Whether it is 11v11, 9v9, 7v7, or small-sided for U6 and U8 players, we teach how to attack and defend in different situations.
Presented by Darigold FIT, our curriculum is internally developed and all-encompassing. From Micros to U19, we help players develop their game-based creativity by focusing on the individual first. Although certain skills seem universal, how each player applies them comes from how they want to play the game. We encourage creativity, repetition, play-practice-play dynamics, and tactical awareness.
We currently teach our Futures curriculum on Sunday afternoons from 2-5 pm. Pricing is $35, $40, or $45 monthly based on the player’s age or position. Scholarships are available to qualifying families.

In addition to our weekly curriculum, North Whidbey Soccer Academy offers several camps, limited-time events, and other learning opportunities for our players within the Futures structure. Here is a sampling of what you can expect to see throughout the year.
- Warrior Wednesday. These sessions focus on soccer fitness. They provide intense cardiovascular training, bodyweight exercises, dynamic stretching, and weekly homework that complements the 60-minute activity. They’re typically held in February and August to prepare players for their Rec season or supplement the competitive-level training they receive through Deception FC Select.
- Tekking and Technique. We focus on dribbling, freestyle movement, creative plays, and foot control during these sessions. They’re held on Tuesdays and Thursdays each July and August.
- Advanced Technical Camps. NWSC Academy trainers provide high-level advanced tactical and technical training sessions over a compressed period during these camp sessions. These sessions are for Competitive-level players or above only.
- Intro to Soccer Camps. We provide an 8-week training camp for our youngest players who are ready to experience soccer for the first time. It is meant for U6 or U8 participants, although those who have participated in First Kicks may also apply.
We also provide limited camps and events based on the needs of our current players, ranging from footwork to shooting, tactics, and soccer strategy.

Academy Curriculum
North Whidbey Soccer Academy uses a proprietary in-house curriculum. It is based on U.S. Soccer’s play-practice-play philosophy, emphasizing building strength, scanning the field, stamina, and perseverance.
We recognize that every player learns differently in this beautiful game we all love. That’s why we’ve introduced the concept of tracked development to support our players, families, and coaches. This element reduces coaching duplication while encouraging at-home work.
Meaningful soccer skills don’t develop with an hour or two of practice each week. It requires ongoing work within a structured environment, even if self-supervised, to produce results. By providing the expectations for each age group ahead of time, players and families can work together with their coaches to create a success plan.
The online version of our curriculum binder is available for review here: North Whidbey Soccer Academy Curriculum Notebook. Physical copies are available upon request.
If you have any questions regarding the curriculum, please feel free to direct them to our Academy Director.
United we play; together we win.
